On October 21, 2017, the CSHP SK Branch hosted the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Education Sessions in Saskatoon. This event was an excellent avenue for providing our members with educational and networking opportunities in a single weekend. We were fortunate to have a variety of presentations that included Scott Livingstone, CEO of the newly formed Saskatchewan Health Authority, a summary of marijuana research currently taking place in pediatrics, and an honest and inspiring patient perspective about street drugs, addiction and recovery, along with so much more. Overall, the Education Sessions were well received by our members and our presenters received glowing reviews.
The Awards Banquet took place on Friday evening at The Glen at Crossmount. This was a beautiful evening that included celebrating the incredible accomplishments of our members, reconnecting with colleagues from across the province, and of course, sampling some tasty cider. Highlights include: Pharmacist of the Year, presented to Lynette Kosar (Saskatoon), the New Practitioner Award, presented to Jacqueline Myers (Regina), and the Betty C Riddell Award, presented to Barb Evans (Saskatoon).
The Education Services Co-Chairs would like to thank the Education Services Committee for all of their hard work and support this past year. Without this group of people, the AGM would not have been possible. We are excited to begin planning the next AGM in Regina for 2018! That’s a wrap for now. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
