Pharmacy Awareness Month Report

This past March saw some great Pharmacy Awareness Month initiatives around the province. To kick off and wrap up PAM, articles highlighting pharmacy practice as well as pharmacy team members were published in SHA Regina and Saskatoon Area newsletters. In addition, CSHP SK branch partnered with the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan to increase media presence. Thank you to Jacqueline Myers who was interviewed on CJTR Regina Community Radio, Mike Stuber who appeared on Access 7 Talk of the Town, and Kirsten Sweet who appeared on CTV News at Noon. All of these individuals did an excellent job representing our profession to the public, and we appreciate your PAM participation.

SPEP 580 students on rotation in the SHA Regina Area showed their PAM spirit with booths at both the Regina General Hospital and Pasqua Hospital. At these booths they advocated for the pharmacist as a member of the healthcare team, and the “I <3 Pharmacy” buttons that they distributed were spotted around the hospitals for the duration of PAM.

If you had some PAM initiatives in your area and would like to recognize someone for their efforts, consider nominating them for the Hospital Pharmacy Advancement Award offered through CSHP SK branch. This award is given yearly to a member or supporter who actively participated in the promotion of PAM. Further details are available on our CSHP SK branch website!
